Dick Wills Construction (DWC) is based in beautiful Granville, Ohio. Our focus is building custom homes exceeding $350,000 in Licking and surrounding counties. We build, on average, seven homes a year. We feel that this is a perfect number of homes to build. It allows us to maintain our personal service, stay abreast of current building trends and designs, and retain the best qualified craftsmen to build your home.

DWC is a family-owned business that was started in 1974 by husband and wife, Dick and Donna Wills. They started our company with the intent of building high-quality homes with exceptional value in Licking County. In the mid-90's, their son, Keith, joined the company as vice-president and assumed primary responsibility for leading the company. Prior to joining DWC, Keith worked in corporate business managing several successful multi-million dollar projects. Under Keith's leadership, DWC focused on designing and building luxury custom homes while maintaining the principles of high-quality and exceptional value established by his parents. Today, Dick Wills Construction is still family-owned and managed with principals: Keith, president, Holly Wills, secretary/treasurer, and Keith's sister, DeAnna Merkle, office manager.

Many other builders mention that their company's philosophy is based on quality, value, communication, craftsmanship, etc. As president, I have a simple principle by which we manage our company and impress upon our staff, sub-contractors, and suppliers. "We want our clients to have the same high regard for us after they have lived in their DWC home as they did when they first selected us to build their home." Given our clients' high expectations,

this is a challenging and lofty goal that I believe we have met and sustained. Holly and I live in a small community, Granville, in which we have built the majority of our homes in the past 10 years. I can honestly say that we look forward to going downtown and to community and school events and unexpectedly meeting people that have had their homes built by DWC. The positive feedback and compliments we receive in these situations encourage us to try even harder to make our future clients appreciate their homes even more.

Although our focus is luxury custom homes, we are flexible about the manner in which your house plan is selected or designed. We can work with your architect/draftsman, build from a stock house plan you found, or design a unique home for you. Our preference and speciality is being involved with our clients at the very beginning to both design and build their home. We design nearly 75% of the homes that we build. This offers many benefits for us and our clients as well. First, being involved at the beginning helps us understand better what you want and why you want it. Second, you benefit from our practical experience of what design elements work best and current knowledge of new trends. Finally, we can give you immediate feedback on various options during the design process so you can stay within your budget.

Keith is past president and board member of the Buckeye Valley (Licking County) Building Industry Association (BIA). He is still actively involved with various BIA committees and projects. Dick Wills Construction's outstanding success as a custom home builder earned it a cover/feature article in the February, 2001 Central Ohio edition of Builder/Architect magazine. DWC parade homes have won numerous awards.
